The latest from Mauby All Natural
Mauby All Natural, San Jose is a Bay Area Certified Green Business
La Colina Park Turf, San Jose
As a demonstration with the city of San Jose, Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services department, Mauby All Natural took responsibility for a small portion of turf at La Colina Park. Daily maintenance is still performed by the city, but Mauby started working on the fertility of the soil. The turf demonstration area is not fertilized like the rest of the turf. The soil beneath the turf is being restored. This project began in April 2011.
The goals of this project are to:
- Restore real fertility to the soil so the turf will grow healthy without synthetic fertilizers
- Eliminate the need for herbicides using non toxic management practices
- Help keep the nearby creek
- Reduce the water requirement for the turf through improved soil conditions
- Demonstration of long term cost savings through changes in maintenance practices with no degradation of turf quality
